White jeans are one of the hottest and timeless pieces of Spring & Summer wear, yet the thought of shopping for the right pair makes some women cringe.

Here are the Do's, Don'ts, and Colors that will compliment your ensemble the best no matter what your body type.

The first thing you must realize is that you have to be picky when selecting white denim. The right pair with the appropriate fit can give you a classy, fashionable visage, but if you have on a bad pair you will instantly look like trailer trash; there is no in between unlike other colored denim.

The two key rules to keep in mind while shopping is to search for thick denim that won't be see-through in certain lights, and when constructing an outfit, view them as a classic white pant.


DON'TS:
#1 - WEAR SMALLER SIZES

white is the least forgiving color of all in clothing. a pair of white jeans that are too tight will only amplify your cellulite if you have any, and no one wants to show any of their lumps and bumps.

#2 - NO WHITE SHOES

absolutely no exceptions. whether you are wearing flats, wedges, pumps, or strappy sandals, go with either a black, neutral, or any color that pops.

DO'S:
#1 - MATCH

make sure your top, accessories, and footwear are in the same color family. for example, a wool blazer, booties, and a matching scarf would be ideal while the weather still figures itself out in Spring.

if your top is earth-tones, a nude color shoe would be appropriate. neutrals give a very crisp look with white denim.

#2 - TOPS

stick to tunics, bohemian flowing shirts, knits and empire lines. if you are a little more uncomfortable with your bottom half, a tunic will go perfect with the pants and cover your tush.
for knits, try a cashmere sweater over your top an cute flats.

Now that we've covered the ground rules, let's break down the three best looks for white jeans.

COLOR:
- bright jeweled tones make a nice contrast with the brightness of the pants. for a Bohemian look, use ethnic inspired accessories, and corked heels.

if the look is more everyday, gold flats, oversized sunglasses, and trendy, metallic accessories will work.

CLASSIC:
- a tailored and sophisticated look is probably the easiest to accomplish with a white jean. brown leather or ribbon belts compliment a white jean. a striped shirt with a full length pant, and solid colored flats finishes this look.

Nothing is more classic than a black and white combination. with a black top, a black heel should accompany.

make your purse or jewelry have a color that pops. i am a fan of a bold ring, and one would be a nice accent to this potential outfit.

HIPPIE:
- flowing tops that are solid with embellishments, or floral tops achieve the hippie style. stick with platforms or wedges & keep your accessories to subtle, matte colors.

Before I sign out, one last rule NO COLORED UNDERWEAR! seamless, nude undies are your best bet.
